What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old medical tradition of India that parallels yoga and yogic philosophy. It translates to mean “the Science of Life,” and is a wholistic medical science integrating health of mind, body and spirit. Ayurveda is an elemental and constitutional based qualitative medicine, similar in its principles to Chinese Medicine.
The purpose of all medicine is to relieve suffering of humanity. While our western medicine works on the physical realm to relieve suffering of disease, Ayurveda aims to alleviate suffering in a wholistic approach of mind/body medicine, refining the health for utmost fitness and vitality. According to Ayurveda, vitality and health are based upon the balance of elements in your body. Each person is born with a unique make up and ratio of elements known as their biological constitution or their dosha. Each dosha and therefore, each individual, is treated differently, using diet, herbs, lifestyle and treatments to balance the elements inside them to achieve optimum health.
The approach of Ayurvedic Medicine is to bring us into harmony with nature and the natural rhythm within our bodies through a balanced connection to food, lifestyle, plant medicine, healthy movement (proper exercise, yoga, dance) and the life principles of Ayurveda. Each one of these avenues is a gateway to deeper connection to our innate nature and understanding our Elemental Biology. Through refining and balancing the 5 elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Space, mind and body come into harmony and we experience greater vitality moving into our full potential of who we were born to be.

Our Mission at Vital Ayurveda is to restore vital life force that becomes impacted by the external demands and rhythms of life.
Ayurveda teaches us clear and systematic approaches to restoring life force at three levels; wind (prana), fire (tejas and agni) and water/earth (ojas). Agni, digestive fire, is a key component to the revitalization of the whole body and at Vital Ayurveda, we specialize in healing the digestive system and optimizing digestion, elimination of wastes, and absorption of nutrients to optimize energy and vitality. Prana, the life force of wind, is important to find balance in the channels to kindle the fire and not to wreak havoc on the nervous system. Once prana (wind) is in healthy rhythm and Agni is kindled and balanced, the deep nourishing nectar of Ojas can flourish and create a deep foundation of health, immunity and energy.
Through this Ayurvedic methodology, using diet, lifestyle and herbs we can revitalize the body from ill health to a state of increased radiance and vitality.

Consultations and 30 day reset programs
Here, at Vital Ayurveda, a client has options for how they would like to approach their restoration of health and vitality, depending on their health goals and dedication.
Zoom consultations are offered in order to set one on the path for health with recommendations on diet, lifestyle and perhaps herbs depending on the condition.
30 day reset programs are being developed for a more thorough and deep dive into a full body reset in life force, through Prana (wind), Agni (digestive fire) and Ojas (nectar of nourishment). This 30-day program is designed to revolutionize and transform your health as you learn valuable principles to empower YOU with the knowledge to recenter your health when you find yourself off-balanced in life. Health is a journey, not a destination, and through these tools, you will learn the mile-markers of that journey to find your own pathway back to a vital center of health.
In Ayurveda medicine, each individual is assessed and treated uniquely. As a saying in Ayurveda goes, "If you treat the disease, you will hurt the patient. If you treat the patient, you will hurt the disease." In this way, each program will be a combination of universal principles of Ayurveda in combination with a customized program to your health concerns, goals and unique constitution as will be assessed through consultations with your practitioner. This is a closely guided process and will be altered and changed according to your own physical responses and lifestyle considerations.
